SYEP Training Monitor (summer seasonal position)

Conduct pre-assessment of work sites and ongoing, weekly assessments of all work sites. Pick-up time sheets from work sites and deliver them to the main office. Monitor assigned work sites to ensure that participants are having positive and age-appropriate work experiences. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise at work sites and help participants and employers to come to a mutually agreed upon resolution. Intervene as needed to remove participants from work sites and handle potential reassignment in conjunction with SYEP Program Coordinator. Maintain and update all participants’ employment files. Work closely with SYEP Program Coordinator, Education Instructor, and work site supervisors to ensure that participants are attending employment and educational trainings. Participate in the distribution of debit cards to participants.

Teach participants basic computer skills and programs including: Windows, MS Office, etc.  Prepare computer lab for use before each class, and ensure that all computer equipment is properly used, including Internet usage. The Alianza Dominicana Cultural Center [The Cultural Center] produces and promotes literary, performing, and visual arts programs to support and strengthen community cultural programs and institutions in Washington Heights and Inwood. It also serves as a home to local artists committed to enriching the lives of Northern Manhattan residents through the arts.
