Case Manager EP- FEPS

This position provides direct case management services, through diversion, eviction prevention and aftercare to clients who are most at risk of entry and re-entry into the NYC shelter system. Services are provided through advocacy, information and referral, crisis intervention services, and short- term case management.

SYEP Education Instructor (summer seasonal position)

Plan and supervise daily group activities for youth in work readiness, financial literacy, career exploration, higher learning, and health education. Maintain and update all participants’ education files. Record participants’ attendance in educational activities. Instruct students in all DYCD required educational curriculum. Prepare lesson plans for supplemental educational instruction in addition to the DYCD curriculum. Coordinate with potential special guest speakers and assist in facilitating lesson plan.

SYEP Site Supervisor (summer seasonal position)

Directly supervise a group of 12 SYEP participants who are engaged in service learning, community service projects or with various non-for-profit outreach projects. Complete pre and post evaluations for assigned participants. Participate in all of the orientations for SYEP participants. Plan and create the day-to-day work plan and oversee its implementation. Supervise daily group work activities. record participants’ daily attendance. Prepare final report of activities and outcomes to the SYEP Program Coordinator.

SYEP Training Monitor (summer seasonal position)

Conduct pre-assessment of work sites and ongoing, weekly assessments of all work sites. Pick-up time sheets from work sites and deliver them to the main office. Monitor assigned work sites to ensure that participants are having positive and age-appropriate work experiences. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise at work sites and help participants and employers to come to a mutually agreed upon resolution. Intervene as needed to remove participants from work sites and handle potential reassignment in conjunction with SYEP Program Coordinator. Maintain and update all participants’ employment files. Work closely with SYEP Program Coordinator, Education Instructor, and work site supervisors to ensure that participants are attending employment and educational trainings. Participate in the distribution of debit cards to participants.

Activity Specialist

Develop, teach and maintain scheduled activities. Develop and maintain arts, theater, music, dance and poetry. Organize art exhibitions, dance routines, theater presentations, music recitals and poetry jams. Recruit participants. Maintain site bulletin boards. Organize and create program performance costumes. Maintain and update participant files. Record daily attendance for all courses. Submit weekly reports to Program Director. Organize weekly meetings with related staff. Keep the Program Director informed on any changes and abnormalities. Attend all monthly instructors’ meetings.

Security Guard

The Security Guard is responsible for the security and safety of program participants and staff. Monitor all persons entering and leaving the building. Maintain an accurate sign-in sheet in reception area. Conduct emergency evacuations and/or fire drills. Develop a distribution system for the portable radios that will minimize the possibility of theft. Keep a well-represented image of the Agency in the reception area. Complete and submit all incident reports.
