Coat Drive Assistant

Description:  Assist with a coat drive, sorting and distributing donated coats.  This is an ideal position for volunteers who enjoy interacting with people. 

Purpose:  Being attentive to clients and their concerns is an essential part of this position.  Many of the clients depend on these coats to keep them warm during the harsh winter months.  By organizing and giving out the coats, you will play an integral role in helping clients find suitable coats in an efficient manner. 

Where:  Staten Island

When:  Thursday and/or Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Lunch will be provided.

Duration of Commitment:  2-month minimum between January-March, one or two days a week

Type of Volunteers: Individuals, small groups

Skills Needed:  patience, attention to detail, interpersonal skills, problem solving, bilingual in English / Spanish is helpful  

Orientation / Training:  A brief orientation and training will take place at the site.
