Coaches/ Referees

Description:   Be a coach or referee and coordinate basketball and/or track and field practices  at parish games or meets. Help with game responsibilities.  This position is perfect for someone who likes to work as part of a team.

Purpose:  As a volunteer coach or referee, you will ensure a positive experience for the athletes and be a part of instilling a sense of sportsmanship within them.

Where:  Various parishes in all 10 counties of the Archdiocese of New York, particularly the Bronx and Manhattan.

When:  Monday through Friday 3:00 – 9:00 pm (may vary), Saturday 8:00 – 10:00 pm  (may vary), Sunday 1:00- 9:00 pm (may vary)

Duration of Commitment:  September to June

Type of Volunteers: individuals

Skills Needed:  Knowledge of the rules of ability to operate scoreboard console and keep score.

Orientation / Training:  A brief orientation and training program will take place at the site.
