ESL Teacher

Description:  Provide English lessons to small groups of day laborers at the temporary office of Obreros Unidos de Yonkers, a new organization sponsored by Catholic Charities. 

Purpose:  By providing them with English skills, especially vocabulary, volunteers will help day laborers better function in all aspects of their lives, including in the search for work.

Where:  Yonkers, NY

When:   2 hours a week in the afternoon or evening.  Times are negotiable.

Duration of Commitment:  4-month minimum

Type of Volunteers:  individuals or pairs

Skills Needed:  expertise in English

Orientation / Training:  A brief orientation and training will take place at the site.
