Food Pantry Aide
Major Objective: Support Food Pantry Staff
Description: Volunteers will assist staff and volunteers of Catholic Charities Community Office food pantries. Activities include unloading deliveries of cases of food, packing emergency food packages, stocking shelves, conducting greeting pantry users on the line, registration and intake of food pantry users, and database maintenance.
Purpose: To provide packages of nutritious food to be prepared at home to individuals and families, and to treat all recipients in a dignified and caring fashion. Food pantries are co-located with other services and many pantry users wind up accessing other essential services.
Where: Washington Heights, Staten Island, East Harlem

Qty:Up to 3, one person at each site.
Minimum Age Requested: 18
Skills Needed: Someone with a natural ability to connect to clients, Bilingual English Spanish a must in WH, preferred in EH and SI.
Orientation/Training: An orientation and training will be done on-site.
