Thrift Store Merchandise Assistant

Description:  Sort clothing donations in accordance with store policy of quality and pricing and prepare items for sale. Assist staff in enhancing the appearance of the store’s merchandise.  This is a perfect position for someone who likes interacting with others.

Purpose:  As a merchandise assistant, you help ensure a dignified shopping experience by making the store’s quality merchandise appear presentable and attractive.

Where:  The Bronx

When:  Monday through Saturday for 3-4 hours between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, one or more days a week

Duration of Commitment:  6 months- 1 year

Type of Volunteers:  Individuals, groups, families

Skills Needed:  Outgoing, knowledge of clothing, designers and prices, bilingual skills and past retail/merchandising experience a plus

Orientation/ Training:  A brief orientation and training program will be held prior to starting.
