Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR)

 Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Our nation took a tremendous step forward with today’s passage by the U.S. Senate of a comprehensive immigration reform bill. To those who worked hard to make this happen we give thanks and appreciation. Much now remains to be done to ensure the passage of similar legislation in the House of Representatives. Catholic Charities remains committed to moving this forward. We need to preserve our legacy as a welcoming home to those wants to make new life for themselves and their families. In doing so we strengthen the vibrancy and industriousness of our country."

- Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director

Cardinal Dolan "As Catholics, we gratefully acknowledge that our parents and grandparents came here as immigrants, and were welcomed by this country we love. As Americans, we believe the United States is at her best when she remains true to her heritage of hospitality.”

-  His Eminence, Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan
