The New York Times Neediest Cases
February 2010 -- Although the end-of-year giving season was a challenging one for charities nationwide, the New York Times Neediest Cases Campaign was a rousing success -- more than 10,000 New York Times readers responded to profiles of those in need in our community and nearly matched last year's contributions. For the seventh year in a row, Catholic Charities New York placed first out of all participating charities in the number of client stories featured in this campaign.
These profiles illustrated Catholic Charities' service to growing need in our community, and also highlighted strong partnerships with our affiliated agencies. Eight of the 18 Catholic Charities stories featured services received at Catholic Charities agencies including Dominican Sisters, CREATE, Catholic Big Sisters Big Brothers, Catholic Community Services of Rockland, Grace Institute and Covenant House New York.
Day in and year out, Catholic Charities helps our New York neighbors in greatest need.
We invite you to read their stories.
