On Monday, July 12, Archbishop Timothy Dolan visited the Mission of the Immaculate Virgin (MIV) at Mt. Loretto in Staten Island. Catholic Charities staff members, including Msgr. Kevin Sullivan, Philip Dorian, Seth Peloso, and Joe Panepinto, along with political representatives, board members and MIV staff, toured the facilities with the Archbishop.
Programs visited included the Fr. Drumgoole-Connelly CYO Summer Camp, a handicapped-accessible water park, and a group residence for disabled adults.
Dolan also visited an employment preparation program called PossibiliTees - a fully operational tee shirt printing business that trains and employs people with Down Syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, psychiatric and developmental disabilities. Funds raised by the sale of printed items help to fund the program's work.
