Description
The Dwelling Place of N.Y., Inc. is a transitional shelter for homeless women, 30 years of age and over. 15 beds provide overnightshelter for women on a regular basis. Assistance is given for entitlements. (PA, SSI etc.) as well as job search, and job training. A Medical and Psychiatric Mobile Outreach provide on-site services for women in need of these services. The ultimate goal is to find permanent housing. Along with the Shelter Program, The Dwelling Place offers dinner for any woman, 30 years of age and over during the hours of 5:30 pm and 7:00 pm seven days a week.The Dwelling Place provides a safe place where women can come and share not only a meal, but also Monthly Birthday celebrations, Holidays, Health Lectures, Yoga Classes, and Prayer Services.
