Founded in 1869 by the Sisters of Charity as a home for abandoned children or "foundling hospital", New York Foundling has adapted its services over the years to respond to changing needs in the communities they serve. Today they provide foster care, child abuse prevention, community-based family services, supportive services for teen parents, residential alternatives for developmentally disabled people, youth development, and other services to help children and families succeed.
